Being involved in emerging tech means Nicole sees things sometimes a decade or more before the masses adopt it. Even though she was a DeFi Degen and interested in Bitcoin since 2019 and attended events like the 2022 conference in Miami, she became Born Again Bitcoin after attending the Halving party and living in El Zonte, Bitcoin Beach El Salvador. She went to Uvita Costa Rica and witnessed their vast adoption and then went maxi after months in El Salvador seeing the impact that living and building on a Bitcoin Standard brings. She is humbled by Bitcoin’s ability to impact all facets of our lives and is happy to be a Bitcoin scholar for life.
Having witnessed firsthand the trauma that often comes with surviving VC entrepreneurship, and after spending almost a year not being able to raise money for her last company in the US because the SEC rules were unclear and her lawyers dissuaded her from doing anything that could be deemed a security, she gave up in frustration unwilling to raise the old VC way with a standard SAFE agreement. Having worked with thousands of early-stage and high-growth companies that often had less than 2% of their companies by the time they were “successful” or exited, she knew there was an easier way for founders to build and maintain ownership of their visions.
